Does niche relevancy also matters in edu links? for example: if my client website is on health niche, so is it OK to get backlink from college Edu site or does it hurt site rank?

from what i have been reading you are going off target by linking to something that isnt your niche what you need to do is let the college link link to your health niche link instead of linking the college link to your money page.
