Need a basic SEO plan based on Google Penguin update

Hello everyone,

Here are a lot of SEO expert. I am also working on SEO but i am not expert anymore. Trying to learn as many as i can. Before Google new update i can rank the site by their targeting keyword doing off page optimization. But after updating Google new Penguin update i am confused now what to do. Before it i can do mixed of back link like for a low competitive keyword i do 1st :- 1st(bookmark with high pr), 2nd(Article Submission), 3rd(blog commenting) etc and i always got the result. So i need a plan like that what will i do now.

Please advice and give me a plan for optimizing a site for getting rank for keyword.

    Create fantastic content dont target them around keywords just write them to answer the question that the user is looking for.

    Build backlinks but dont just use your keywords as the anchor text mix it up a lot.

    Make sure you get a wide variety of backlinks from a wide variety of sources....

    Keep adding content regulary

    But the whole time make sure you are adding value to your site.... you need to show not only google but your visitors that you care about them and that you want to help them unconditionally....

    • What he said... but with a slight adjustment, My posts are usually 70% kw targeted and 30% entertainment targeted (so with the purpose to entertain and be shared) for example: 10 posts target low traffic kw's and 3 posts are fun posts, top 10 ten lists, etc.

      But at all times, fantastic content and value is indeed key!

    building backlinks to backlinks is often something that most dont do :-)
  • You can try those method in one the previous post of sovereignn.I want to add something that use only unique and related content in your work.Otherwise you may have lost your site from SERP.

    2. Google index: 5000+
    3. outbound links: around 20
    4. yahoo back links: 10000+

    I read all of your answers and did help a little bit, but still don't have it fully clear. I used to do micro sites and blogs for a company but not spammy ones, with good content, but with all this updates, they dont know what the way forward is. I dont know it neither - what can I do to help the company but within the guidelines?

    If I understand it correctly, I still can use backlinks to their web, as far as I use backlinks to different sites? How many backlinks can I use in one blog? Is there any clear explination? I mean clear for everybody, not just for SEO masters?
