BlogRoll and Blog Posts

Hi,

Quick question here, well, 3 questions.

#1. As it pertains to blog sites, does anyone know what carries more weight, a blogroll or blog post?

#2. I know many people agree that a more active blog (one that posts daily as opposed to weekly is better for SEO, I was just wondering, when blog posting would that link carry more weight because the page is not getting buried faster)?

#3. Did anyone ever have their site on another site's blogroll and also have blog posts on that same blog, if so, is it ok to become a regular poster to someones blog, in other words would the links be treated the same or different?

Hope this all makes sense, thanks!

#1 - A blog roll is carries more weight, this is tested and i found it to be anyway.
    * I created 10 websites and did SENuke X campaigns to get the website ranked for its domain name in Google. 5 websites used blogroll's to each other and the other 5 blog posts to each other. The blog roll websites got seen quicker by Google*

#2 - Yes the pages just get buried if its active.

#3 - I have not tested blog roll and blog posts on the same domain pointing to the same website (i think that's what you meant)

Definitely. We put a keyword link on other's blogroll, and within three days, the page ranking of that keyword raise from page 5 to page 2 in Google's search results.

    1. See, as blog post and blogrolls are two completely different things, so their weighting depends on different factors.
    2. Yes, blogs which gets updated frequently are considered as good blogs by search engines. But frequency of updated content is less important than quality of updated content. If you are updating your blog fortnightly with informative post, that will be more valuable that daily fluffy posts.
    3. Its good to be regular poster on someone’s blog. Again, value of backlink depends on the quality of page it is coming from.
