Content on Web 2.0's - Original??

If you submit content to web 2.0 sites to build backlinks, is it worth paying to outsource articles so the content submitted is original or is it OK to submit articles which i've already submitted to article directories?

I know that Google allows syndicated content and that people post content to web 2.0's for backlinks that has already been submitted elsewhere, but I was wondering a couple of things.

1. Would the index success rate of the backlinks likely be lower if you don't use original content or wouldn't this make a difference? I intend to submit the article to about 20 web 2.0 sites.

2. Would there be any less weight given to the backlinks if the content submitted to the web 2.0's is already on article directories or doesn't this make a difference?

Cheers,

If I were you I'd use a bit of both. It's really not hard taking a few paragraphs from a few of your articles and writing 4-5 new sentences to tie them together.

But I don't really know how Google looks at it, I guess it's fine anyway.

    1. I don't think quality of content affects the indexing of the content... Indexing depends on how you frequently you are inviting crawlers to index your website.
    2. Yes, weightage of backlinks depends on quality of content. If the backlinks towards your website are coming from poor or copied content (with poor reputation in Google's eye), these will get less weightage.
