what is the point of using complex keyword finding software

like word tracker or traffic travis. Isnt Google key word enough, it really gives you everything you need to know. It seems as if the other keyword software just lets you store and organize data. You can use excel sheet for that...

  • It's one thing to find keywords, it's a completely different ballgame when it comes to deciding whether those keywords are difficult to rank for.

    • Completely agree with this post. You can only get keywords from google keyword tool but deciding which keyword easy to rank for will need another tool and this is where keyword tool comes out to help. Of course you can use free plugin or do this manually but what counts here is time, how long do you need to analyze lots of keywords manually? Better leave this to the software and you can focus on other tasks like building site, backlinks, etc.
  • I myself use only Google Adwords and Google Insights to choose my keywords. Its a lot of work but it has always worked out fine ... getting the appropriate long tail and short tail combinations, etc
  • Googles keyword tool is based from Adsense results NOT organic results, so the info you are getting could be scewed.

    For example, the "competition" level is simply based on the number of people and price of each bid related to Adsense advertisers.

    The best thing you can do is analyze at least the top 10 or 20 results manually, sure it takes a bit longer but will pay off greatly in the end.
