Hey there, I make micro niche sites and I was wondering how will selecting a target country from G webmaster tool affect the rankings?

    It will mainly look to rank you in that country. By default, Google will list you either under the country of your web host server IP, or depending on whether it's .co.au (Australia) com.nz (New Zealand) .co.uk (UK) etc.

    For niche marketing, it's a good idea to use Market Samurai to see which countries have the least competition and highest searches for a phrase or three. Then you set up everything according to the country you want to target, it helps.

    If you target specific country with their languages, their keywords, their country domain name , their ip adress, their local server. Then you will taking advantages is their local search engine that easy to rank on top and higher compare to competitors from other countries.
