Broad,Phrase,Exact Searchs the same?

I was wondering what useful information can be gleaned from a situation where the estimated search returns in the Google keywords tool for local exact, broad and phrase matches for a keyword are basically the same or very close?

Obviously the number of search variations that use the keyword in them is small. But play Sherlock Holmes here what else does this tell you about the keyword?

    • No I think you missed my point. I have a specific situation where a the keyword for particular manufacturer in a niche has almost identical search results in exact, broad and phrase matching in the Google Adwords keyword tool.
  • If the broad match and exact match search volumes are very similar it indicates that very few people use that keyword/s as part of a longer search query.
  • Match Types
    The traffic volume that appears in the statistics table for a specific match type is an approximation of the traffic that a keyword gets in a month on Google with that match type.
    • Broad match: The sum of the search volumes for the keyword idea, related grammatical forms, synonyms and related words
    • Phrase match: The sum of the search volumes for all terms that include that whole phrase
    • Exact match: The search volume for that keyword idea
    generally Google doesn't only rank your only 1 keyword, instead it ranks bunch of keywords related to that specific keyword by including some common words in them, that's why Google provided broad and phrase options for checking keyword rankings.
