Reciprocal links question

If I participate heavily in a forum and am posting links in posts back to my site (not in sig box), do I gain any juice from this? Do I undo all of it by linking my website back to my forum members page or would that be completely inconsequential?

I was thinking of creating a social contact page with all of the ways to contact me on it and a link to all the communities I participate in. Just another way to try to catch traffic and lead them back to me. Does this seem like something worthwhile?

I'm going to do it anyways to test it out, but I wanted to see what peoples opinions were.

    If you put multiple links on the same site then chances are the best link will provide the most juice and all the other links will be provide very little, if any, juice.

    Don't let that put you off! Getting links into places that people actually visit is more likely to bring you visitors than ranking well in Google these days!

    To be honest keep it a one way link pointing from the site to you, and not a reciprocal link.

    Yes, reciprocal links do work, as long as they aren't a large source of your backlinks. But at the end of the day, if possible keep it one way and build links to your forum profiles another way.

      I actually already was planning on creating something pretty elaborate for the forum to help drive traffic directly to the website. In other words, the juice I get is an added bonus and not my primary goal, which is for direct traffic.

      Do you think that there is any chance that the additional traffic I might be able to catch by putting my forum profile up would counter the decreased value of the link?

      I guess I could always test to see how many people are going to the forum and see if its beneficial. Though I don't know if I even want to give people a way out to the forum because I'm not sure there will be any value added by them going there anyways and it might actually hurt me in that regard as well.

    Reciprocal links technique is useless after the recent change, it totally looks to google unnatural.
    Reciprocal Links = Link Exchange

    Try to get one way backlinks from your niche sites to get more link juice.

    I personally do not think Reciprocal links are a good idea. Matt Cutts also states this in one of his videos. But I do recommend one-way backlinks.

      If you're going to do it just make sure it's no-follow. You could also implement a "no crawl no index" direction for that particular page (your "contact me" page) in your robots.txt I guess.

    You will get the link juice even in the post, but that would be considered as spamming. Also it is important what forum you are in. If it's a crappy forum, where people just post links to get backlinks, then it's no use as no one is gonna click on your link.
