Google vs Bing.

What is the difference between bing and google alhorithm? My site ranks first on Goole and rank no where in bing. Why?

  • Google ranks the website by focusing on link popularity, diversity and prominence where as Bing ranks the website by focusing on on-page factors.

  • For ranking good on bing, you should start using bing webmaster. it will help you to grab your position on bing also.

    • Using Bing webmaster has NO impact at all on Bings ranking of sites!
  • Bing and yahoo ranking depends more in on-page SEO factors, your website must be SEO friendly in all aspects and includes all on page SEO strategies. Yahoo and Bing search results are same and Bing also looks for yahoo back links, so try to submit your website links in Yahoo Answers, Yahoo Bookmarks, Yahoo Directory, Yahoo Groups, etc

    • Well i dont think so that you should worry too much in this case as it is the good news that your site is on the top of the google most of all most 80% users use the google for their searching the algorithims and the spiders of the google are much faster than other bing or yahoo so its good thing that you are on the top other side if you want to improve your bing ranking try to do the seo as per bing requirements it will help you to get on top in bing also.

  • I once got a message on my cell phone; Searching for an item is always associated with Google. You may have heard of the term "I Googled it..." no one has ever used the term "I will Bing it...". So if you are doing great with the big gun then it is OK, In my case for a site that rates good in Google will rate good in Bing as well.
  • Bing focuses more on on page factors and therefore it is easier for new sites to rank in Bing but Google considers the page popularity while ranking a web page and therefore it is harder to rank for.
  • There are some certain factors that make the differences in ranking system of bing from google. In bing, factors like age of the domain and proper key wordings are major tools in page ranking. Domain popularity for long period of time may gave better ranking than new one.
  • Only one thing remember.. Google is good for ranking.!!

  • Search engines, including both G and B, rank pages not sites. You need to check each page because you may have interior pages that rank well and a main page that ranks very low.
  • I am almost sure that you will NOT be interested in doing SEO for BING. Google will give you the key to success, by the way, if you work just for Google, your website will also have a very high position in other search engines (like yahoo and bing) too
  • Bing will definately get a greater market share in the coming years.
