None of the questions you asked are pertinent to advertising via AdWords. Go read the TOS and then read them again. You must understand how to build a landing page that will be approved by the AdWords team.

The two most important things to consider are whether or not the products you want to promote are allowed and how you landing page is constructed as to avoid Bridge Page and Site Policy violations.

I've heard that when promoting Amazon via PPC, it's better to use other PPC networks such as MS Adcenter instead of AdWords because they're cheaper and the rules are less strict.

Have you had any success promoting Amazon on PPC platforms other than AdWords?

Im also considering using PPC. I made a thread about it in the main discussion forum a couple of weeks ago, but no one replied. I guess it's because Amazon's commision rates are low so people are put off by using PPC to generate traffic.

          Some answers to your questions.

          What Theme would you use

Any 2 column theme should be OK as long as it doesn't look cluttered and it's easy for the visitor to navigate around your site. The main thing is not to cram your site with Ads and ugly large headers, etc..

Would you use a plugin like ReviewAzon

A plugin isn't neccesary as they usually have lower conversion rates because they don't offer anything original unless you add it yourself.

          Would you write articles ?

Yes, as you can put your own stamp on things and give your opinion on the product. It's not neccessary to write informational articles though because you're not writing to please Google for organic traffic.

What PPC platform has given you the best ROI when promoting Amazon products?

I looked at your impact wrench site. Don't bother promoting it via AdWords in its current form. It will never pass.

I only use AdWords when I do PPC. My traffic with AdCenter has been abysmal any time I fiddled with it. My landing pages typically score a QS of 7-9 in AdWords so my CPC is usually very low.

Do you think AdCenter has good traffic and you just didn't choose the right keywords or would you recommend not using them?

When using AdWords, do you need to make sure you don't have many affiliate links on your site so it isn't deemed as a doorway page? Do you keep affiliate links down to a certain amount.

When you use PPC on your Amazon site, do you just send traffic to your homepage or do you send traffic to inner pages also?

I never send PPC traffic to my home page and you definitely need to go light on affiliate links. It's definitely an art to getting approved. I used the same keywords for AdCenter as I do with AdWords.

Do you use any Buy Now buttons on your site or would that be deemed as too promotional for AdWords? Do you just use affiliate links within the text?

Also, what is your average CPC?

Is the QS determined by the CTR of your Ads? So is the key to getting a high QS to write compelling ads?

I like to stay with the shopping cart buttons and QS is based on lots of factors, including CTR. My CPC is something I keep to myself since TOS forbids discussion of it. Suffice it to say that I have a good ROI.

You need to promote quite expensive products or have an insanely good conversion rate to be successful with this method. If you promote a 1000$ product your commission will be 40$. You will burn 40 bucks very quickly with PPC, especially if you choose too broad keywords...
