Press release questions-help!

When do you think is the best time to send a PR? I hear conflicting reports. Do you also think its a valuable way to get some good links? Thanks!!

A good start would be going to PRLog dot org - great to get your Press Release ranked.

  Thanks, will give it a try. I actually called PRWEB and they said the best time was to send a PR at Tues at 3. So thats what I did if anyone is interested.
  
  Was wondering..do you think its likely I can get some good backlinks through this release (granted if I provide good, interesting info)?

Traditionally the 'press' was media companies such as tv, radio and print. So what does 'press release' mean now? A website that releases a news(y) article and Google looks at in the same way as a 11 year girl has a crush with Justin Beiber. As a result Google ranks a prweb.com press release on the first page and the site gets traffic along with the opportunity to get some backlinks from other sites as a result of exposure.

Anyway it is only time before Google wants Justin Timberlake instead.
