The domain name I want is not available

Jesus even with my keyword tools it takes hours just to find a handful of good keywords (with exact domain) Lets say The domain I want is not available, for example the domain is www.edhardyshorts.com

Can I switch it up with something like: www.edhardyshorts4u.com

Will it still rank well?? I'm making some niche sites with adsense but its getting harder and harder to find exact match domains that are available.

    If you mean can you promote it, yes. It depends on your abilities and your information about seo. The domain you said, is so similar to the keyword you wish to rank in top results and the rest thing is your seo abilities and the time you spend for optimizing it. I think this domain is a good alternative.

    Ofcourse it'll help you.The domain still have the keyword you wanted.Keyword in domain is helpful but SEO is needed for ranking.

    Never bother with domains that include brand names, trademarks etc... They have copyright, it's their intellectual property. If you have a site making money or profiting from that name then all it takes is someone to report you...or the company themselves to find the site. And before you know it your site is gone.

    You will be fine as long as you post positive reviews et similia , there are thousends of fan sites around for almost anything. You can use edhardy-shoes too or w*ww.shoes.com/ed-hardy-shoes. Everything is good as long your keyword is in.

    Firstly, do not use branded domains. The brand name 'Ed Hardy' is a tradmark and the company could legally force you to remove your website or change its name and domain at any time. If you are relying on search engine traffic then you will be back to the start again.

    Secondly, why are you looking for an exact match keyword domain? If it is for search engine rankings then I would encourage you to forget about it. Just choose something that makes sense in your niche. The shorter and sweeter the better.

    You could call your site, BobsyourUncle.com, and rank for Ed Hardy Shorts as an example. Your URL doesn't need to have anything to do with your keywords in order to rank.

    As others have mentioned, I would steer clear of any domains with a brand name in them. If you do end up ranking for the domain, chances are the company that makes Ed Hardy will see your site and contact you regarding copyright infringement.

    Getting by that, have you considered registering other tld's? .net, .org, and .co (or any other tld, but those are my first choices) will rank just as well as a .com. Before registering an alternate tld, do a quick Google search and check out the results for the keyword you are after. If you see the .com and other tld's of the domain you were after, it's best to move on in my opinion.
