I need to hire out my seo

So I've been looking all over WF and we know how that goes. The more we research the more confused we get. Or at least that seems to be the standard with me

Is anything penguin proof? Panda proof? I have a new site that I need to promote and don't mind spending some money. The site is only about 5 weeks old, and a week after launching it I would do a search and there it was on page 2 of googles serps in 2nd position. Then wham the honey moon was over and it's gone to below 400th place this week. I'm not even trying to find it.

Which WSO could help me out? I'm reading a lot about them, and my question is should I wait a while before hiring this out? After all the site is only 5 weeks old and only 15 pages deep now. And who? If anyone? knows how to penguin proof a back linking campaign?

Once this site is done I have another one in the same niche that I'm building now that will need the same thing done. These sites will be in it for the long haul too. 10 to 15 years.

It seems to me that you also have knowledge about SEO, if yes then why don't you start work by yourself?

Yup been doing this for over 10 years now.

Ranked some sites in my day too

I'm to busy is why I want to hire it out.

Also, this is a tougher area that I'm wading into this time, and I need to be spending my time elsewhere doing other things. I see some warriors who I think could prolly hand my ass to me knowledge wise about long haul seo too. I read the thread about "who would you hire" too and like the 3 mikes and Yukon and what's his name

But if I'm going to hire someone I want a responsible pro that specializes in SEOing sites for the long haul. Then isn't going to be some small micro site. It's going to be a gorilla by the time it's a year old, and a monster later on. Size matters too. It's been my experience that google likes big.

So Who's the man? Or woman? Penguin Proof? SEO's for the future? Not a flash in the pan? I know it takes time and am patient, but do want to be in the top 3 organic on page 1 inside of 1 year.

      I hate the penguin

Someone asked a similar question quite recently:

The OP of that thread probably regretted ever asking!

Who says you can't earn money as an eBay affiliate any more? My stats say otherwise

LOL. Referrals are the only way to go when looking for an SEO. Talk to someone you trust, who has had success with an SEO campaign.

Relax, your site is 5 weeks old. I know it can be hard, but trust me when I say this is normal. Don't make any drastic changes to your site. This happened to mine and I bounced back even higher.

I think it's way to early to worry but if you need to outsource the work then I hope you find a good one. I hired 2 with horrible results.

      Ouch..

What results were they? Or were there any results? Maybe you were over expecting?

Long haul seo takes time. Lots of time. I built a site for a local service that started in november last year. I hooked the guy up with a 3 year old exact match domain I own. And it just did take the 3rd spot on google organic on the first page a week ago. It took the same amount of time to get his google local ad to 3rd place too.

He could have gotten higher but I own the two sites above him, and gave him over flow business from them till I got him there. Getting top 3 rankings on page one takes a considerable amount of strategic effort and time, even if it's just a simple service website.

Over night results aren't what I'm looking for, I expect it to take a year. It's a very geo specific high competition niche I'm after. The people that own the top spots are fairly well entrenched, and it will take some serious effort to unseat them. I just don't have the time, tools, or finesse to do it myself.

I can rank geo specific service sites well against other small timers, but I'm looking at bigger fish these days. I need a person in my pocket that knows how to balance it all out and make it happen with a tried and true system they have in place. Preferably something that's penguin, and panda proof by design or through method.

      I'll land on something soon.

I have a love hate relationship with google. It seems like they don't want creativity and hard work to pay off anymore. What's gotten into those people?

It's been my experience that the less you give a crap about what Google thinks, the more they (google) will like you. To the point of almost being considered a stalker.

It's not hard to turn the tables on Google. Google follows their users around. That's what makes their business model (advertising) profitably work for them. You get in front of the users in your niche, then Google will pay attention to you.

If your in it for the long haul, circle yourself (the niche) with the users that fit your demographic market. Panda and Penguin can't ignore what the users want. The net kinda functions within bubbles. That's what made social networks so authoritative, at least in the sense that Google gave those platforms a lot of weight.

I don't know why I'm telling you all that, you sound like you know it already. But if I were in your shoes, I would find someone that could do a comprehensive demographic market reach for the niche I was targeting. Then I would take parts of it and outsource those tasks. The onpage SEO, I would do myself.

So here I am. I'm researched out now. I've looked at this a blue million different ways.

This entire penguin thing has me thinking.. I know, it's scary isn't it?

Automated back linking? Is it dead? How far will google go? They seem to be flexing the muscle of their new " Sherrif of Internet Town" position they've elected themselves to.

I've read where I shouldn't even factor google into my future plans. No more analytics, no more webmaster tools. Can't have them tracking us anymore? Somehow I don't think they (google) can be stopped as of yet. And with the big G getting used for some... what? 80% of searches now, can a business that relies on internet search for it's local customers survive without them?

I'm thinking maybe I could do one blog post a day. Maybe one new site page a day. And one to 2 manually placed back links a day along with an article from article monkey or whatever that service calls themselves a month will be the way I go with this.

I really did want to do a back linking campaign and farm it out to somebody... But this panda/penguin "we're (google) going to clean the internet up" thing has me afraid to get competitive with it.

Is google crazy? Do they really expect small business's to be able to either write or pay somebody to produce marvelous, professional, provocative content and images on a regular basis that's so dam good that everyone will want to link to it? And post it to their websites, on a regular basis? If that's the case small business owners simply aren't going to be able to compete with the big online chains any more..

Yup, it looks like I'm back to doing it myself the old fashioned way till the penguin dust settles a little bit.

    WHAAAAAAAAAA!

So I checked out your panda stuff and it looks good. Soon, when the penguin dust settles I may still get hooked up with somebody to order a white hat type seo package. I do appreciate the offer!
