Free Google +1s help or not ?

i have seen many websites in which we have to do +1 to other sites to earn some points and then use that points to get +1s from other people.

kindly tell me that it is beneficial or not in SEO ?

    Don't do it. The whole point of social media is to reach your targeted market and to interact with prospective consumer and like minded people. This accomplishes none of that.

    I think those sites are just giving numbers, because most of the people on those sites doesn't use real/ personal accounts.

      yeah you are right i have seen that they don't use their personal account, they make a separate account only for +1s

    Also realize that +1's are supposed to be dedicated to friends.

    That means if your friends +1 something, it's likely to show up higher in the search results.

    Yes, +1's will have an overall SEO effect, but come on.. if you were Google and saw a ton of spammy +1's you wouldn't give them any credit.

    Think of yourself as Google and as a visitor. If you were using Google, what would prefer to show up? Something that was organically ranking or some crap that someone cheated to get up there?

      thanks a lot justin, i was confused of taking +1s or not but after reading your reply, it is clear that Google will ignore my +1s and will not give any benefit and can also harm my site in rankings.

        No problem.

        I can't bring any algorithmic fact to the table on this one just yet because it's still in the early stages.

        BUT, if you were Google, you would have setup some type of algorithmic pattern to fight against spamming.

      no friend, Google recently deducted around 1000 free +1s from my website, but didn't hurt my site in rankings, maybe Google is giving my site last warning.

    I heard that seo after penguin benefits a lot from social signals, so +1's may be good. Beside it's could drive in some traffic too.
