Hi guys,

I have a quick question.

Which Free tool would you suggest me in order to check competitors' backlinks? I need some insights, like authority and DA of the websites which my competitors are linking from.

I know SEO moz etc...I was just wondering if any of you is aware of some nice tools other than the usual ones, which I find confusing and not very helpful.

  • If you want to free website for check backlinks then you cna use this website backlinkwatch.com/ . It good website.
  • Unfortunately I tired..it says my website as well as my competitors' websites havent got any backlinks. But thanks anyway for the suggestion.

  • You can try with backlinkwatch.com and Alexa toolbar.
  • try ahrefs, opensiteexplorer, majesticseo or ibacklinkpro.

    • Unfortunately backlinkwatch takes a while to be updated. So if your site is relatively new, you won;t get any data. What I did was using google webmaster or check my backlink. This way, you will also know which sites provide you a do follow backlink also.
  • I suggest you to use a opensiteexplorer.org. It will give you a result for a backlinks.
  • Install Google toolbar in your browser. There's an option in Google toolbar to show , just enable it. Then open your site in the browser & the page rank button in Google toolbar will show you the page rank of your site.

    To check back links in Google do a search for
    example dot com
    replace example with your domain URL.
  • You can check ahrefs.com. It allows you to use their tools 15 times a day for free. Just register there and you can use it. Not bad for a free service.
  • You may also want to download SEO Spyglass. There is a free version that gets pretty complete as far as link checks go.
  • Thanks, I did not even know this was available. I'm sure it could come in handy of I get into my own SEO work some day.

    That is very useful tool which I am using to analyse competitors' links other than I am using Samurai as well.

  • Backlinks watch is rubbish. It comes up with an annoying popup and for many sites it doesn't show any backlinks or doesn't show as many as services such as opensiteexplorer.
  • SEO Spy glass,its free to download. Or you can use backlinkwatch.com.
