I looked at my top10 competition. Keyword receives over 100k+ exact monthly searches.
#1: Low quality. The OBL on the home page is over 100. After pulling the backlinks profile 99% of the anchor text is the keyword, so something like 980 out of 1100 backlinks have the keyword as their anchor text.
Other sites in top10:
Craigslist (completely unrelated to the niche)
Exact match domain that has "Welcome to your site, click here to upload or create your first page" (has been like that for at least 2 months now, even has that message in the title bar and meta description)
and other sh*t sites. Out of the 10 that show up on the first page only 3 of them you can consider authority sites.
So my question is, WTF is going on with Google? It's been almost a month since update, so you'd think that the SERPs would settle by now.
