Google webmaster tools position

Hi

I've started a SEO campaign for one of my website. Currently it's working. Some of my keywords have been in top 200. I'm using Google Webmasater tools like most peoples. The problem is that when I check position in Webmaster tools in Search Engine Optimization section, keywords are shown at different positions. When I check them in Google they are at different. Webmaster tool is showing 650 for one of my main keyword, but actually it is not in top 1000 results.

Can someone help me in this regards? and how Google position keywords in webmaster tools?

  • Not to be a downer, but if your keywords aren't even in the top 100, your SEO campaign isn't really working...

    What tool are you using to see if your keyword is not in the top 1000? I hope you didn't manually check that!

      I understand it. Probably my SEO is working and some of my keywords have been in top 100. And other are improving. my concern was about two major and hot keywords.

      Mostly I check them manually. Not using any software or tool for any SEO concern. If you have some good suggestion, please share. As I've restarted the work after two year break.

  • What do you need help with? Clearly it's wrong if you manually checked it.
