A New Generation of Spam Comments

It's really funny to see actually.

While we used to see spam comments with commenter name as the keywords like "Insurance Tips", now I'm seeing a bunch of URL's in the name field.

Funnier even to see names such as "Click Here" and "Read More"

I used to get annoyed when I see spam keywords in the name field.
Now, I don't know why but I feel sympathy for the URLS and "Click Here"s.

  • If the spammers want to vary their anchor text I don't know why they wouldn't just use a bunch of random pseudonyms.

    • I was thinking the exact same thing. Why not just plug in a few hundred names into Scrapebox? Heck, names look way more natural than "click here" or just the domain.
    • This. Just write good comments and use random nicknames.
  • They are like "spices" in the internet marketing world. I think they are also the reason why Google tend to make rapid algorithm updates. They're pushing Google to make things worst for them.

    • I think the problem is not with the site owner. Its the optimizer they hire. They think that if they put the keyword as a name it will be easily see by google so that the site may rank.. but the problem is that it will consider as spam.
  • Why feel sympathetic for people who are doing something that works

    • Man I hope that's a joke. I really hope you don't think that works.

You can't tell me that blogcomments are good to vary up your anchor txt. Yes it works for varying up to get hit by a penalty later on cause you lost a ton of links as those comments are never permanent.
  • I hope Google has some sort of filter for the anchor text "click here", because it seems like everyone is using that phrase to help make their site's links seem more "natural". LOL

    • If Adobe.com tanks then we will know why.

  • I think post penguin every one is saying to have natural hyperlinks such as click here, visit this link etc. that is why those spammers on internet are now using those kind of funny names in backlinks in blogs comments.

    • I'm sure Google would never have anticipated such creativity after Penguin.

      LoL that's funny.
  • The part i don't understand is how moderators allow such comments on their posts. I guess this would not happen anymore after google's penguin update. All the sites with spammy links would be penalized and therefore no more spam commenting!
  • lol...I think it's not a fault of the site owners but it comes from the link builder they are hiring. They are trying to create “natural anchor text” to make Google fond of But in fact, Google is thinking in contrast
  • LOL but still this technique works. They do get a backlink for using such names.
  • In name section you can use pseudo name or actual name or you can use your brand name it can helps a lot rather than just putting targeted keywords
  • "Abusing Tools Like Scrapebox Should Be A Sin."

I recently made a number of website ranking one page and daily I see some weird sh*t. Most comments are spam related. Some most be N00Bs need the spend to less time using tools the wrong way and more learning the basically of html code for url.

And also you can easily tell when the comments is from automated tool. It does add value to your article or website.

  • I also have noticed another type of unusual comments, they look like real stories from people. They are long and kinda relative to the topic. But if you read closely they often do not make sense in context.
And when I google their text I see that they are on some other websites as well, either as a comments or as a forum threads.
Oh and another thing is that in "website" field they put facebook profile. Does anybody knows what it is? Do they just try to get through "first approved comment on wordpress" or what?
