between building a blog network and publishing articles on multiple Web 2.0 sites?

Blog networks require buying high PR domains, with multiple hosting companies or ar least the purchase of numerous IP addresses and my host (Hostgator) will allow only a few IP addresses per account.

Using Web 2.0 sites has no cost to it other than your time.

Will one get you better results than the other? It seems to me that you will get the links from various IP with both methods. Feedback anyone?

If you build a blog network out of high PR sites this has more ranking value than web 2's alone.

      Hi timpears,

Each type has certain advantages, and disadvantages.

Many Web 2.0 properties are part of a community and that community may send real targeted traffic to your pages. The disadvantage is that since you do not own the website, you have no real control over the content. You have to follow the terms and conditions of the website owner and will not be permitted to do anything you want. It could be deleted at will by the owner of the website.

Having your own blog network gives you more control over your content, you can create you own internal linking strategy and control all aspects of the website. The disadvantage is that you need to pay for all related expenses.

I wouldn't worry about IP addresses, that has absolutely nothing to do with SEO.

I would suggest doing both, diversify your process as much as possible.
