How do I increase my SERP?

Currently its been about a week since I made my site and I already have great content and adsense and amazon put in between the content. (Still working on that)

I know I need baclinks now.

Currently, I post my link on nofollow 'forums' for diversity (Not mainly for traffic and I make like 15-20 links of those nofollow a day) but I'm stuck on how I should get more backlinks to increase my SERP.

Does it work like this? (Example)

1 - Make an article with your money site link inside.
2 - Post that article to '5' 2.0 websites (Ezine, squidoo, ehow, blogger, hubpages)
3 - Get the urls of those 2.0 websites with the article and 'blast' (What does that mean?) them using fiverr/senuke/MS

Thats what i've seen so far from other people's post on how they do it. If that is the correct method above, how can I improve it so that I can eventually get to #1?

(Please use simple terms; I know i've looked and learned alot from searching but sometimes the definition im looking for doesn't come up within the next 3-4 pages so I leave)

Thank you

Building links in Tiers is a really good idea.

What I like to do sometimes is build 8 to 12 high quality web 2.0 sites. Build them out almost like you would a money site. Good content (can be rewritten plr) pics, video. Each web 2.0 sites has multiple posts, say around 10. Sending links to different pages on your site. Also included in tier one is social bookmarks, some articles, blog comments on related blogs.

Then tier two links are stuff like senuke pointing to tier one links. I don't worry to much about the quality of the content, but try to make it good enough that it hopefully won't get deleted.

Then tier three links are anything and everything I can get cheaply and throw it at tier 2.

Some people like to do 4 tiers instead of 3.

What are the different types of tiers?
