Prominent SEO Company - Deindexed.

Google sure ain't being conservative with the hammer lately.

www.iacquire.com - seems to be deindexed. They might not depend on Google traffic, but it sure looks bad to have an SEO company that is out of the Google index.

internetreach.org, digitalpros.org which also belongs to them are also deindexed.

Most likely because of this: http://llsocial.com/2012/05/search-s...-fortune-1000/

Will be interesting to see if google takes action on the "publisher" sites outed in the article as well as the D&B domains or subdomains.

They're a known link broker and have been for some time. It doesn't really matter to them.

The guy who "outed" them is a douche. Over 30 hours of research? Really? I know it's all just for link bait, but still... I can think of a hundred better ways to invest 30 hours of my time, lol.

Most big companies buy backlinks (indirectly). Big deal.

I agree, and it appears that most of the commenters on the article do too

I was annoyed by the breathless way he reported on the article. He should have just taken the $30 a month.

Anybody notice they are back in the index already? Their vacation didn't last long.

That's surprising. Can they come back without Google knowing about it? If Google do know, how is it possible?

Looks like it was a 60 day penalty. Google's given this type of penalty to themselves previously, too. They can give manual penalties that expire after a certain time.

What is funny about the penalty to their site is they get their customers by proactive means. I've been contacted by them many times to put links on some of my sites for their customers. Being booted out of the index was definitely bad PR (especially for an SEO company). I'm sure they lost some customers over it, and if a business does a background check into them before signing on, they'll still find stories about it.

But that is really all it was. A PR move by Google.

If Google really wanted to make a statement, they would have had to penalize IAcquire's customers.

Whole situation is somewhat ridiculous. Middle to large size companies are used to placing advertising wherever and however they want in EVERY offline scenario. Essentially its one company - Google - telling everyone else they are doing something evil.

The other reason its ridiculous is that these deindexings and penalties are done all for show. Google employees would have to be daft not to know that a HUGE portion of the web is run on paid backlinks. I would bet there is not a solitary SEO company of any weight that has not ended up paying for a link in one way or another. You encounter it at every turn when you contact webmasters for links

Pretty sure they had do a reconsideration request that was manually reviewed. Deindexing usually doesn't expire.
