Looking for a online hosted software to help find relevant sites for backlinks

I am new to SEO, and have a very limited budget for it. So after reading up on other forums postings on here, I have decided that the safest thing to do is create backlinks myself. This is a time consuming and tedious task, so I was wondering if there is a software or online tool that I can help me find relavent sites to my industry that I can create backlinks for. Is there such a tool? I dont want to download or install anything on my Mac computer either so I need it to be hosted online.

Actually, you don't need a tool for that. You just need the right resource to get you started.

Use Alexa the Web Information Company

You can use their lists of top sites in your niche. I'm assuming it would be transportation in the broad sense.

You can also use Home | Quantcast marketing planner using demographics. But, I don't usually recommend it for newbs cuz it's not that friendly and it has a learning curve compared the alexa.com database.

My only problem using Alexa is that I may have to go through many sites to find one that will allow a backlink.

Anyone else have any suggestions? Something that can filter out the sites, and give me a list of the one that will allow backlinks?

  Here's a couple or so that I have. I got about 7-800 of them that I'm going through in an excel spreadsheet. I'm separating them by platform and linking them up.

  I have spent several months trying to do the same, I think there are a couple of free ones you can look at. You can try Traffic Travis or Market Samurai.
