It's been brought to my attention that a article has been written about me and my most popular threads, you can read it here http://site-reference.com/articles/p...-1-1-now-live/

There are a few times it mentions that I advise people to mass produce MFA sites, and even shared how I did it. The moral of the story is suppose to be write about what you love, but I have no writing skills so what I am I suppose to do. I outsource articles, and make sites that I feel are very informative, these site are made for the visitors themselves.

But than again if I made them just to make money from adsense maybe they are MFA sites, but if that's the case, why else would I make a site, if not to make money from it.

I've done my best to urge marketers to make useful sites, with great user experience and not to make small ugly sites just to make a buck. I posted my own success and failures to help others avoid those mistakes.

I just feel a little strange having somebody say that I showed marketers how to make MFA sites. Like I said many times before, if I possessed the necessary writing skills to make great content about all the things I like, than all my sites would be about movies and television shows.

Since I do not possess these skills I outsource articles, but I always make sure that both my sites and articles are of good quality.

Edit: I have nothing against the writer of this article, she help point out maybe I did show people how to make big MFA type sites, although that was not my intentions. Hopefully most of you followed the advice of making great sites, with good content, that you can see yourself working on for years to come.

Since I don't write, I kinda consider myself a website architect , I simple place things were they need to be. Download template, edit it for my needs, order content to cover every aspect of my niche, and than see what my visitors want and provide it for them.

Oh and I do acknowledge that I was written about in a positive way overall, it's just a few parts bothered me.

Link dead. So how did your traffic do after penguin 1.1? Assuming the same since you don't rely on backlinks?

No change, not in top 100 for the six careers my site is focused on. What little traffic I do receive is from articles in question form. I pmed yukon earlier to get some advice on internal linking to lighten the load on external links. I will be adding another 100 article next month, but will drip feed them ,so just 2 a day will be posted. This is Yukon's advice btw, good advice too.

I know right, this is weird. Even when I see some of my older posts pop up on first page of the wf , I'm surprised like wth lol. Actually you want to know what the funniest part is, whenever I try to research long tail information, or authority sites and focusing on just content, my own threads come up in the serps lol. I can't even search on google for these things without running into myself

Lol. I like their write up and summary about your venture.

Why not make a TV show fan site? As you say that's what you like.

I had one a few years ago, the show was cancelled but I did make a good 5 figures during each of the 4-6 month seasons it was on - all using Adsense, Amazon, and affiliate offers.

Since then no new shows have grabbed my interest since, I haven't created any more. The trick with TV show sites, is to get in early and build a community around the site. Now I watch Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, those would have been great shows to make sites about. Lots and lots of loyal fans.

Hell yea lol, I watch walking dead every sunday and can't wait to next season. They killed that last episode it was like a movie. I've heard people say they get e-mails about copyright infringement so I didn't want to deal with it, but the real reason is because I wouldn't want to outsource articles on topics I love, they wont come out the way I want it. I love walking dead so much that it would have to be me writing so my love can show through the content, but I'm not a writer.

I may make sites about things that don't personally interest me, but after a few months I know every there is to know about my niches/careers except what it's like to really work in the medical field.

Someone said since your a ex-police officer write about that, there is a reason I stopped working in law enforcement. I hated it, but it was something I was good at, except writing reports that is .

Man, I remember hammering out 4,000 word episode reviews every week. It was great. Once your gets popular, you get people volunteering to write for you ...FREE.

You'll only get letters if you host or link to sites that allow pirated copies to be watched. I'll send you an example site I did for my brother for another show he was into.

I don't understand about the MFA statement TBH. You can blog about your most favourite subject in the world and not make a penny. I had a blog about business strategies and I never got a single click on it, probably because they were all tight fisted LOL with ad blockers, there are other niches that can get all the traffic Google can send but they never convert.

I don't see what the problem is if you think of yourself as a publisher, you should be able to research and write about a wide range of topics and be interested in a wide range of activities. Most people don't enjoy what they do, a job is a job. I don't see what's wrong with blogging for cash if you do it in a tasteful way. Why is it any different going for a better job with better pay?

Although I do see people's point when they say don't rely on Google, it should be a hobby, but Google need good content too.

I think I was a fairly privileged person before the update, most of my sites were hobbies like movie reviews, music and general larking around and I got paid for it, but now I'm turning my attention to more profitable niches. If Google are going to make me break a sweat then I may as well get paid more money for it.

Well, technically, the sites you are building are actually MFA sites. You are building the sites so you can place ads on them. That makes them, by definition, Made-for-AdSense.

Now, that being said, there isn't necessarily anything wrong with that (IMHO), provided they are quality sites and provide value to the reader.

I suppose they could be looked at as "mfa" sites, but I provide much more information on my sites than my competition, I respond to every e-mail,comment etc. While other sites focus on just one keyword I had a hundred useful articles.

So I don't feel as if they were made to make money ,because I cared about my sites, they were a reflection of me. All of them focused on helping people, and I don't think a true "mfa" site does that.

I didn't use nay ctr themes, or make my sites a ugly black and green color so the visit would just click on ad and leave. Sure I made money from my sites, but I made sure these sites were as useful as they could possibly be.

My new site will have thousands of pages within the next 3 to 6 months, but each articles will be for the users themselves, I make my sites for them, and I get paid for it, to me thats way better than some greedy marketers that offer up 5 page sites with little to no value.

Like I said before I felt bad when little girls contacted me, wanting to work in the medical field and they couldn't get any good info because the top ten results were filled with mfa site with exact match domains. My site was much better but they backlink their way to the top, and that's why I can understand where google is coming from.
