Domain Name Help. Does Using The Plural Keyword Matter Here?

Last post of this got deleted so I will try to reword this so to avoid that happening again.

I am trying to start a niche site and I have found two keyword that I want to combine for my domain name. I wanted to know if I got the benefit for a plural main keyword if my secondary keyword starts with the letter "S".

Example (Not my main keywords, just an example)

1. Doctor

2. Surgical Guide

Would I get the benefit of the term "doctors" because when the two words combine to be doctorsurgicalguide (dot) com.

Or would it be better for me to just use doctorssurgicalguide (dot) com to get benefit from the plural and more used search term.

If it helps, the term "doctors surgical guide" is not highly searched and I am not concerned with the traffic from this term just the two individual terms which will likely not be searched together.

Yes the plural matters in googles eyes as its the exact keyword phrase.

And that matters if they type in the word "doctors" seeing that all the letters are in the domain name? I am just looking for an explanation because I do not understand some of the rules regarding some of the domain stuff.

Keywords in domain names don't matter anything. Judge for yourself, there are hundreds of other factors Google takes into account when ranking websites. Ok, you'll have a "tick" across your domain name - but what about the remaining factors? What about great unique content that makes you stand out of the crowd? Great backlinks built naturally? Well-balanced site structure? - just to name a few.

There are hundreds of factors, but the domain name is one of the, if not the largest contributing factor the where your site is going to start.

The domain name www. cruises .co.uk sold for £1million pounds a couple of years ago.

The domain name is just as important now as it ever was.

There's no doubt domain names like the one you mention or seo.com or s*x.com cost a lot - yet it's not a proof that they help ranking better.

Please do a quick search for "seo blog" and let me know what you see on the first page.

        seoblog.org?

        seoblog.com?

        seo-blog.co.uk?

        All of a sudden, there're wolf-howl.com and googlewebmastercentral.com.

And seomoz.org and seobook.com are there not because they have the word "seo" in their domain names, but because of their content and reputation in seo niche.

Think value first, and don't over-exaggerate the value a keyword in the domain may bring. Better look for brandable options (wolf-howl.com example above) and think how you can stand out.

P.S. I assume keyword in domains can be of more importance in spamy micro blogs and stuff, but when we talk about trend-setting resources, EMDs appears spamy and totally unmemorable.

While I do not know a ton about SEO, I do know that having the keyword in the domain can be the difference in being ranked 1st or 3rd even if the sites are evenly matched in every other way.

I want to have good content and all of the important parts of keeping an audience engaged, but I have to plan to get them to my website first.

Yes, interestingly enough it seems google reads URLs in strange ways, for example I own this domain:

    www. nowinofee .co.uk

    No win o fee....

However, it ranks just fine given the niche, for the term: No Win No Fee

    Amazingly enough.

Yea, I believe you will get some benefit for ranking "doctors" if that was your scenario. I've actually tested something similar to this in some of our domains. As long as the word can be found in the domain it seems to give it a small boost.

Thank you for the direct answer. Do you feel that it is less than if it were the who thing?

Thanks for the answer and the example. I have felt there was a way to do this but as I am not a domain name expert I wasnt sure if my idea was valid or not.
