And what can I do to avoid it if there is any SEO loopholes/SEO concerns. Also let me know

As I had moved another site to a new server and we had to face deep in leads. (just after moving the server)

Are you movin to a server that's in a different country than the current one?

Also make sure to had a copy of the site on both servers when you change the nameservers so that there is no down time.

Make sure there is no downtime as well as I will highly recommend you donot change country location of the web server as per my personal view.

Also you can make sure your website working fine using DNS Host file at new web host after data migration completed to ensure no downtime on your website and your website is working fine from your new web host.

In terms of SEO it should be fine as long as the backlinks that point to your site remain. And of course the exact urls that have backlinks point to them remain.

If you're gonna remove those page/post urls that have backlinks, just use "redirection" plugin and point your previous urls to your homepage.

Just moving the host (server) is not going to effect SEO as fasr as there is no change in the url structures and the contents of your webpages. If we fine tune then you may see little changes in case of changes in the Geo-location (IP) of the server and its configuration (VPS, Dedicated etc) for loading speed.

In my experience I once had quite a few websites moved to a different server in a different country. There were some issues with the moving of sites, as some had to be fixed after not noticing the issue for a few days.

I honestly think that changing geographic regions had the biggest impact as there is significantly less traffic on this group of websites to this day over 1 year later.

I speculate that changing servers within the same datacentre or geographic area would probably not have much if any impact long term if it goes smoothly.

So long as the server is in the same country there shouldn't be a difference. Make sure when you do the move to keep your old hosting up with your website(s) for a least a few days after you have changed your nameservers to your new hosting. This is to make sure that the DNS changes to your new hosting have propagated worldwide. I just leave the old version up for a week then delete once I'm 100% everything is perfect on the new hosting setup.

At one point I was moving a small amazon site from Godaddy in Europe to Hostgator in the US. There was no downtime as a carbon copy of the site including all content was already on Hostgator. The change took place by me simply changing the nameservers from my registrar, which meant that theoretically there would appear to be 0 downtime.

Well, long story short I lost all rankings and they are only now starting to slowly come back more than a month later. I did not do any blackhat SEO or low quality links. My rankings were all based on a massive linkwheel which I personally made.

I know it doesn't happen always or for anyone, but it hurt me really badly.
