    Guest posting, building your own high PR network and high PR blog comments on low out bound link pages are working incredibly well these days.

    I am only building web 2.0 (tier 1) links to my websites...no tier 2 for now.....I am also linking to my websites by just using the website urls.....Using a lot of anchor text variations......it's working as of now............

    If you have a lot of clients you might want to think about creating your own private high pr network. Takes a little time and money, but well worth it.

    All of the methods you listed above still work. Just make sure your web 2.0 sites are high quality with great content, pics, and videos. Also vary the anchor text a lot as mentioned above.

      I haven't heard much about incorporating social media as part of an overall strategy. There's no doubt that social signals affect rankings. In fact, the only thing I've been doing for the past few months for my inner pages is creating really good content, and getting lots of shares, likes, tweets, pins, etc. Most of my pages are ranking on the first page without the need of using any other tactics (in a competitive market). I'll continue to build my brand with frequent guest posts though, as well as some social bookmarking, and building quality web 2.0 properties.
