I have no idea. The couple websites that I had that were impacted by this algo have been redone totally.

1 of my affiliate sites is down, all keywords across the board have been hit hard.

Google loves content? Google doesn't know ****. My website has better content then the top 10 and it still gets penalized.

I don't know, I might have to stop playing the SEO game. This rollercoaster year is just getting worst.

Thanks for the update. I haven't seen any movement yet, but I'll keep looking.

Most of my Amazon sites seem to be unaffected, with 1 or 2 actually gaining traffic slightly today. I do almost zero backlinking to my sites so this would seem to make sense.

My website search traffic drop from 12,000 to 10,000 yesterday.. No idea what exactly happened. Seems that it was google dance. Some page goes up, some goes down.

      Anyone?

You're all internal? On-page? Never do off-page SEO? If so, what kind of keyword are targeting? Are they 1,000 + ?

In that case, I'd just devote more time on fixing my content, adding supporting pages and what not =D.

yes big movement here, lots of sites previously unaffected are now losing rank. But not off the map, just dropping by 5-10 positions, some more.

Looks like they are discounting more links or something.

I don't even look at search volume. The only off-page SEO I do is automatic bookmarking, pinging, and tweeting of each new post. This is certainly why my sites were unaffected by Penguin.

I am moving to email marketing so I can avoid these changes to SERP. I know I have to have some traffic to build lists, but once the list is substantial, I can drive traffic any time I want.

I don't see big changes in my network of travel sites, although there are minor movements, so I guess Google could be spinning the wheel again.

Two of my sites are very thin amazon sites with only marginally original content.
I made these sites a couple of years ago and used all sorts of dubious link spamming techniques. Understandably, Google slapped them stupid and they flatlined at 0 views per day from that moment on. I wrote these sites off as a learning experience and promptly forgot about them....... until May 16.

Checking my amazon sales reports i saw that these 2 sites were all of a sudden responsible for a bunch of new sales and since then have been averaging around $50 in commission each day and growing.

Then, on June 6 another long-forgotten site (affiliate but not amazon) also jumped from a consistent zero views per day to around 80 and has started making money.

I have two theories as to what's happened. It could be that a Google algo change has somehow increased the value of some of my old spammy backlinks, or perhaps these sites each suffered some sort of Google penalty that has now been removed.

Whatever the reason, the traffic and revenue is a nice surprise!

There has definetly been a change, another seo provider told me yesterday that 80% of his clients lost rankings, he is now considering to quit offering seo and moving to other website related stuff

Hmm, yeah, I have seen another site plummet down the rankings. Now this is an odd one because I built two sites at the same time, about 10 months ago:

    - very similar template
    - very similar site structure
    - very similar niche/content (no NOT the same, or copied or anything)
    - both got VERY light (maybe 10 or 20 posts each) backlinking from some blog networks, I think ALN and one other

One has got slapped, one hasn't. The ONLY difference that I can think of between the two is that the slapped one got the Scrapebox treatment from a so-called SEO provider about 6 months ago (they misrepresented what they were doing). Oh yeah, and the one that's survived has a forum (with no activity on it!) and the slapped one hasn't!

If that's ALL it takes now to get demoted in the rankings then it's getting very silly, both because of the possibilities of negative SEO and because of the disproportionate penalties being meted out for backlinking.

I mean, I am not whinging, I don't see SEO as a sustainable business model anyway, but it's nice to have a few sites bringing in passive income. Right now, that "few" is getting less and less by the week!

Who says you can't earn money as an eBay affiliate any more? My stats say otherwise
