i've been optimizing my brother's business website for a while now. its in the first page for 5 of its major keywords, all of them have more than 4000 global searches each month. 3 of the keywords have cpc of $2.5 and 2 has $3.5. now i've been working to get the website to the top 3 rankings on google. so if i get into the top 3, how much could i earn through google adsense? just a rough estimate would be fine. never used adsense before so i was just curious.

thanx in advance..

    Hi,

    That could really depend on the traffic, the type of traffic, the site, the site design, the ad placement, and so, so many other things. You will just have to try it and see. Lot's of general traffic will be better.

    There's no way anyone can tell you exactly how much you can make. Too many variables. How much traffic does the site get? How many people will actually click on the ads?

    Your best bet is to throw some ads up and see how they convert.

    Hi danny99999,
    First of all, I know that the one answer that you are NOT looking for is: "depends". I know, I've been there.
    So before throwing some numbers at you, let's be clear. It really depends, on a million things. It's extremely hard to predict.
    Let me give you some insight from my experience:
    - You will not make that CPC every single time someone clicks on your ads. Not even close. You are going to get a lot of 0.3 clicks, some of 0.6, a few over a dollar, and sometimes you will get over 5 bucks for a click. Why ? Because conditions change over time, advertisers drop campaigns, create new ones, they target your site, they don't, you name it.
    - Clicks on link units will be usually of a lower value than ad units, but they will have a higher CTR if properly placed (and blended).

    But lets get to some numbers:

    - If your site gets visitors with high commercial intent (buying keywords are driving the traffic), you can expect a CTR in the range of 1% to 3%. Sometimes under 1%, sometimes over 3%, but usually somewhere in the middle.
    - From my personal experience, your CPC will be in the range of 0.3 to 0.6 (again, for high commercial intent)
    - So, let's do some math:
    + Worst case scenario: CTR: 1% - CPC: .3 -> eCPM (or RPM): $3
    + Best case scenario: CTR: 3% - CPC: .6 -> eCPM (or RPM): $18
    + Middle point: CTR: 2% - CPC: .45 -> eCPM (or RPM): $9

    - Now, let's consider your traffic. If thos 4000 searches are "exact" searches, and your presence on the top 10 is evenly spread, maybe you are getting about4k-6k visits a month.

    - If you have 2 pageview per visit (a lot of IFs going on), you will have 8000 - 12000 PV a month. Let's say 10k PV a month.

    So, you could be making from $30 to 180$ a month. But you can take the eCPM calculations, and apply them to your actual traffic data.

    Hope it helps,
    Regards,

    mariscal19

    Its depends on visitors. If you can increase traffic then there is a chance to get more clicks.So more traffic more earn.

      Well it depends mostly on traffic and if the niche you have is impulse buyers or clickers. From my company exp you have to target directly the people who are very interested in your subject matter, and you will get tons of clicks.

      From my exp with my clients you can earn anywhere from as low as $40 a month to $1,000 a month. You have to target impulse consumers, people who like to click on ADs, they are mainly found in social media. If I take a person who is making nothing a month like $3-$4 I usauly can push them to the $40-$50 in the 1st month and higher latter on. You just have to grind when promoting and you can make it.

        That's a good way to put it..."target impulse consumers"...this point is often missed when people talk about making money with adsense sites.

        So very important in my opinion.

    If I were to make an estimate I would base it on the follow things:

    1. The current traffic going to your site

    Why: Google doesn't display the same results to everyone. They are tailored to the individual based on a number of criteria not only limited to geographic location. Global search values won't give you an accurate approximation. If you're going to use them to form an estimate, be very conservative.

    2. Your Niche

    Why: Some niches convert better than others because the market in that niche is more interested in buying something. Keywords that express an explicit interest in the product or service your site promotes are more likely to result in clicks.

    3. The CPC from the contextual targeting tool
    The google keyword tool CPC numbers are based on bids from the search network. You want CPC estimates for the content network. Keep in mind those numbers are just averages or means or something like that. Every click you get will not be in that ballpark. One of my niches claims a 2.65 CPC. Sometimes I get clicks for $1.00, other times for $3.00

    If your brother's website get 1000 unique clicks per day on $2,5 CPC Ads and 1200 unique clicks per day on the $3,5 CPC ads, then it will generate $2500 + $3570 = $6070 per day..
    That's mean your brother will start to become rich after the first 10 days
    Woooowww...

    First of all nobody can say how you can earn. It depends on many factors such as, your traffic source (direct or referral), from which keyword visitors are coming, your ad placement, your ad colour relevent to theme or not, your per day traffic, like that there are so many factors that decides your earning.

    Check Flippa.com for sites in your niche. Most sellers post traffic and CTR data for buyers to look at. Might give you a good idea as to how much money is possible to be made. Good luck and keep us posted on how you make out!

  • It is fully depends on visitors, Ads placement, CPC

    $100,000.

    It's depends on your site, and your the amount of traffic.

    If you want to start with AdSense, I recommend you to start with Micro Niche Sites.

    It's very easy and you will get fast results(in 30 - 60 days).
    You will not make $100,000 with it, but you can easially earn $5 a day with 1 site.
    Think about if you have 10 sites.

    David Smith,
