I'm going to give Facebook ads a try to promote my site. I see i can get coupon codes for $50-100 on Fiverr. They all say it has to be for a 'new account' (under 14 days old I believe).

Does this mean brand new facebook account in general, or just new to buying/running ads? I ask because I've had my personal Facebook account for years, but I've never run any ads or anything on it at all.

Can I still do this or would I have to make a brand new account?

Thanks!

Here's an idea, why don't you just take my $50 coupon for free? I can't use it as you can't use more than one coupon per account last time I checked. It should still be good to use, so here you go: JC84-7N99-V0C0-YJXT

First come first serve I guess Pay it forward.

And here's how to use it (in case you didn't know)

After creating your ad, click "Review Ad" at the bottom of the page.
At the "Review Ad" page, please check to ensure your campaign, targeting, and budget are correct, then click "Place Order."
Please select credit card or PayPal as the funding source for your account.
If you select a credit card, on the next screen, select "I have a coupon to redeem." Copy the coupon code you received, then click "Submit."
If you select PayPal, please add your PayPal account, then go to your Funding Sources tab at https://secure.facebook.com/ads/manage/funding.php, and click "Add a funding source" link at the top right of the page. From the "Add a Funding Source" screen, please select "Facebook Ad Coupon" and then copy the coupon code you received and click "Submit."

One more question. It's related so I figured I would not start a new thread...

Any suggestions on what 'interests' I should target on Facebook? I'm looking to advertise my new writing site. I've got an ad up that targets things like the following...
    Search Engine Optimization
    Internet Marketing
    Article marketing
    Search engine marketing
    affiliate marketing
    make money online

Also - What countries should I target do you think? I'm currently US, France, Mexico, Canada, England. What are the other countries where I could find people looking to hire a high quality writer?

I know it sounds crazy, but actually any make money online stuff on facebook should also be targeted towards Republicans or Conservatives. It's been proven time and again that ads on their websites convert well, so the same logic should work for FB as well.

Also, I'm not really sure what your ad is going to be. However, I've found that videos convert well and they get accepted by FB pretty easily. Or maybe you can do a webby.

However, squeeze pages don't get accepted too well...unless you have a video on the top. Then you can say something like..."Free Video Reveals..."

      It's worked for me.

Hope that helps and best of luck to you.

        LOL!!
That made my night, thank you. But seriously, thanks for the tip. I've tried advertising on Facebook before, but my ads always get rejected. Facebook is pretty strict when it comes to ads. Do you guys have any tips for promoting a squeeze page or should I just promote a fan page with links to my capture page?

        Thanks

        Lol.

It doesn't sound crazy at all, and is actually a very good marketing approach. Generally speaking, this demographic is known for being some of the most commercially-active leads that you can get, so it makes perfect sense to target them within the "make-money" niche.

Thanks Shane. I'm actually just getting people to my facebook page for now. If I can get them to 'like' my facebook page then I can send them notifications when I release new PLR packs or want to give them a discount on unique writing or whatever.

IDK if that's smart or not. I've never done much with advertising before so this is all trial and error for me at this point.

    Seatbelt99,

I have discovered that if your Facebook advert is laser focused you get a better CTR (Click Through Ratio).

So perhaps start off with just one interest and one country. Have you tried using the interest "content writing" only. It can get really expensive very quickly so set a low daily budget and watch your ROI. If you find th e CTR and ROI is not high enough, then you can start tweaking the advert.

My suggestion is to let the ad run for a few days before changing it.

Other people may disagree of course

    Banned
They are a tough nut to crack imo. They are always banning my ads whenever I try to run them. So far I hardly get any decent ROI on them. I do plan to increase my knowledge of FB PPC and learn what to do in order to get the best from them.

What is the best place to buy these facebook ads credits?
I'm really low on cash this month and i'm investing on a couple of ads to direct to a landing page for web services.

    Thanks everyone!

Great advice and kind gestures from fellow members. It feels like one big happy family!

Facebook as we all know is a social platform and I would prefer to see social ads like dating, gaming, music videos etc as it's more of a chilling out platform. When I see stock trading, forex or non social ads, I merely switch off. I'm sure most people do that so the secret is to see what people want, do your research with the demographics and give people the social stuff they are craving for.

My formula is: High CTR, Low CPC, High Conversions (Likes) for FB Ads

    Cheers

I agree with the opinions above. First of all I tune campaign to high CTR, which sometimes costs more money. Later a tune campaign to likes.
