How To Promote Affiliate Products With Adwords

Is there any way we can still use Adwords traffic to promote affiliate products? Since Google does not allow bridge pages and direct linking to merchant sites, what are the ways which affiliates can currently use to use adwords for affiliate promotions?

Are there any differences in Google rules when you advertise on their content network as opposed to their search results?

Google PPC is one of the best sources of traffic and I dont want to miss out on this.

Sure is. I very rarely have problems getting my own Amazon review sites approved by the AdWords team. You just have to be creative about it. Go easy on the affiliate links and provide a good user experience and you should have very few problems.

No... you can't promote affiliate products through Adwords. They hate affiliates so much. Your ads will not be approved and your account will be suspended.

You could use adwords to build your list, build relationship with your subscribers, and promote affiliate products to them later. But, you could not promote affiliate products directly via Adwords.

Adwords' rules for Search Network and Display Network is same.

No, no, and no. And no some more. There is nothing in their terms that state you cannot promote affiliate sites. In fact, I have promoted my own Amazon sites with AdWords with success.

Give it up Wolf or you'll just drive yourself crazy. It just takes one who seems they know what they are talking about to say "you can't do this" and everyone believes it.

Just to make it clear to all once again, Wolf is right. You CAN promote affiliate products. You just have to do it right. True, some products you can't, e-cigs are one example.

And you can direct link to the merchant. The landing page has to conform to all Adwords rules. Just because it's not your own, you don't get a pass. So my suggestion is to become familiar with the rules and very carefully study the page to make sure it would pass those rules. If there's any doubt, don't use Adwords to promote it.

Anwar, if you are using a bridge page, the solution is simple: don't.

If you plan on promoting clickbank affiliate products here are some advice:

    1. Create a site with original content - at least 5-10 pages of content and just don't build a site to sell the program as adwords sees this as site bridges which lowers QS and may get our account suspended.

2.Create a sitemap, contact us, privacy policy page.

3.Don't use misleading words or claims both on your pages and ads.

    4. Make your site seo friendly meaning have backlinks, meta tags, keyword rich, and fast loading pages with no errors and working links.

    5. Make your site content and offer relevant to the ad

If you really, really want adwords to accept your affiliate landing page/site, then you MUST follow this. Each and every thing is gold.

Points 1, 2, and 4 are irrelevent. They mean absolutely nothing to AdWords.

Points 3 & 5 are only marginally helpful all things considered.

Well, I used to think that once upon a time when I was new to adwords and I had applied for my first ad...

And my ad got suspended. Later I received an email stating that the problem was with my site. So I called up Adwords and after the call, what I learned was that I had to set up a contact us and privacy policy page. Of course they mentioned original content too.. which upto a certain extent IS required. Backlinks and stuff don't matter, true.

Create a domain called "A" as landing page and point your reviews to domain "B" which is having affiliate links.

This way you can promote your affiliate URLs through adwords. Use "A" for adwords.

Honestly, I wouldn't promote any affiliate product using AdWords (especially typical Clickbank producs) - Google has shut down 100.000's of adwords account over the past years from marketers promoting affiliate products.

I would only use it to sell my own products or for list building - but be careful about your ROI.

I prefer solo ads and media buys.

Sure it works ! But they like only promoting quality products meaning none of that ClickBank crappy products.

Pay attention to what user wolfmmiii has to say about it, he's specialist and his report on this topic was invaluable for me when I was starting. Basically there was described all that your affiliate site need to accomplish prior to going with Adwords paid traffic.

Wolfmmiii, I would like to read the revised version! Can you send me PM once you finish it ? I can review again in a real life.

One Tip: Eventually inside the updated report you could mention one single URL example of affiliate site that has been approved by Adwords team .

Google defines "Bridge pages" as pages created with then intent to SEND searchers to another page. There must be some ACTION for the user to take on the page in order for it to oblige to Google's rules. Simply use a squeeze page with a premium to get the users email address and redirect them to the desired page. be sure that it is related to what the user is searching for or else you will waste your Click.

It depends on both of your affiliate projects and Adwords, Adwords do ban some affiliate networks, but allows most of them. The easiest way to make sure whether your ads can be approved or not is contact your AM, generally they know it because many other publishers had met the same question before.

It's not really a hell of a task promoting affiliate product on adword and Google does not hate affiliate programs like most people think.

You just have to be a little bit smart about it by securing a domain and setting up a squeeze page capturing visitors names/contact details for future follow up.
Except if you are a top brand, promoting a static site that lacks the ability to capture visitors info will bring you no success.

The marketing terminology that say it takes about 3 to 7 contact to close a sale is still very true. Using adword without a squeeze page will result in loss of all your visitors and resource while using a squeeze page will permit you to have/build a list that is solely yours and that you can promote any offer you have.

Apart from what a lot of people say here on the forum, you just have to know what you are doing when you are running on AdWords.

In a nutshell don't "appear" to be an affiliate and they will not assume you are an affiliate.

When I launch campaigns on AdWords my goal is to get the email that's it. E-Mail marketing combined with AdWords is where i get my ROI...

But just make sure that you do not look like an affiliate and you should be good,

The issue you are going to have with Adwords and Affiliate Sites is the landing page requirements.

You need to set up your site in a way that doesn't appear "spammy" so that your ads will get accepted.

I don't mean ppc direct to amazon. I am talking about eccommerce themes. Something like CandyZon and similliar themes that are selling here on WF.
