      What's wrong with paid links?

Even a PRweb press release is a payed link (it's not free).

Same IP doesn't matter, obviously have some self control when building links, but same IP isn't a deal breaker.

Keywords in a blog/comment name doesn't matter, Google doesn't have a clue what that hyperlink is, it's just another link.

Same anchor-text on multiple backlinks isn't a problem, you rank pages (not domains), focus on the page your currently ranking.

        Hi

This is real, Google penguin denies paid links.

Yes, some press releases are also paid but for publishing content, not for publishing links. Sometime it is essential to put links, so brands put links in press releases, even press also advice to put links in releases to give complete information to users.

There are some rules of press releases
        1. Thou shall be professional not to be promotional
        2. Thou shall be real story not an imaginary story.
        3. Thou shall be having informative not a sales page.

Penguin also follows these rules, if a paid release follows these points and redirect users to correct page then press release is having good worth.

Getting links from Same IP is really problematic; Google can detect all of your links and can understand your spammy method.

Even keywords in blog comments & same anchor text in all backlinks are problem for SEO now. These things can be detected easily can be harmful for site. Read Google penguin latest update 24th April 2012.

        Let me teach you,

What is a backlink according to search engine?

Search engine considers, "Backlinks are just like votes for a site". It is similar like "election". "Real people choose correct person as a leader for their city/state/country".

        Similarly

Google needs quality and authentic votes (backlinks) to rank up a site by any keyword. If links (votes) are getting from spammy sites, link farms and illegal methods then these votes will be counted as negative votes.

        Hope this will help everyone.

Thank you Yesceeohhh for adding good information

    Hi Kartik,

Getting backlinks from same IP means, suppose I am having 100 article sites and you are getting links from my 100 sites. This is spamming.

But if you choose different article sites of different owners then it will be a plus point of you.

Secondly Yesceeohhh has raised very good point that “Getting too much back links with same anchor text.”

This is really spamming, you must fluctuate your keywords by changing suffix, prefix and changing some words of keywords.

I don't know where Natasha gets this stuff honestly. Some of those rules are way too generic to be an absolute in all situations.

Especially the paid links one... if anything "paid links", which btw could mean a few things, are more desirable now as google seems to be ever increasing it's reign over the common free link strategies most of us employ for basic SEO.

Have you actually tested this or is this just another random, general post?

I still link cloak and have sites on Page 1. That's post Panda/Penguin btw...

    5. Avoid Spammy Links like blog comments, profiles and etc.
Anthorty profiles link still work, but you should build the link looks nature. don't target all the url to main keywords, just target it to "click" "homepage" "your site url" etc, and 30% to 3-5 your main keywords, keep building link in this way, will get your site rank well.

I find backlinks from the same IP works ok as long as they are not recripcal e.g link site A to site B - Link site B to site C - Link site C to site A
