Backlinks after Penguin!!!

Hi
What type of backlinks are google accepting after Penguin..

I need a PR 4 website moved from #2 to #1. The #1 website have some content in the home page but my clients website doesnt have any content. Also he didnt have any fb or twitter pages, no google plus one's etc.

The niche is real estate..

What backlinks I need to build for him...to move him to #1..by taking care of google's updates..

You need backlinks from relevant sites that aren't just crap autoblogs. The prevailing theory right now seems to be that the quality of the links is what matters, not the quantity.

I believe manual link building and variety of hyperlink text are most important things post penguin world in SEO.

  You could start by checking out the number 1 sites backlinks, and trying to get the same ones they have. Also, you say your client's site doesn't have any content. Maybe you should add some. You may not even need any backlinks after that.

  You can take membership of seomoz.org and with help of Opensiteexplorer.org you can search any competitor's high authority backlinks and can manually search to build backlinks for your website.

Build quality links some factors to consider are it must be relevant website with PR1 and DA30 above, no pop ads.
