I'm Scared!

I used one SEO guy already with not much luck at all. Now I am trying another that guarantees 1st page results and knows my niche market real well. He has gotten others in my industry on the 1st page so I feel pretty confident but I'm still scared! $500 a month will be worth every penny if my phone is ringing off the hook! I cant wait but I've been burned before!

  • If he had done well in your other industry then you can approach with confidence. By the way, do you clean the carpets yourself or employ people?
  • Best of luck to you $500 is a bit steep though I hope you're getting A LOT of keywords with that

    • It depends on the keyword. If your keyword has good value, then do not mind paying 500 dollars per month, but if you are not sure about the potential of your keyword, then it will be a waste of your money and time. Do not forget, first page and first spot on the first page has a lot of difference. Do your keyword research well.
    • Are you kidding? $500 is a bargain if his SEO guy is legit and does good work.

Your phone likely won't be ringing off the hook even if he does get you to page one. And $500 a month is a rip off. I bet there is so little traffic for your keywords that you couldn't even spend $500 a month on ppc.
  • WE can help you with your site mate. We offer $234 per month.
  • You get what you pay for. I would stay away from any cheap automated mass of crap seo, especially on this forum. I'm sure he'll do a good job for that price.

  • Thanks guys for all the answers. It is more then I spent with the other guys but they did nothing. My new guy is working on my places listing as well as 2 organic keywords all at the same time. He is bitching about the other SEO company who listed my company with different names and such in directories. Says it screws up your places listing called citations or some crap? Now he is going through all the ones he can find and fixing them. He definitely seems like he is way more involved as I constantly get links I have to confirm, directories, forums, etc... He even made a blog on my website which I think is cool. He also posts classified ads everyday for me to get me some immediate business. I have gotten calls. He seems legit but I have been burned. That's why I found this place and I study and learn. I just don't want to do this for work. I like what I do and I just need an honest SEO guy this time.

BTW, I actually went and found him on one of my forums I'm on in our cleaning industry. He doesn't market his services at all and is actually a very busy cleaner but has answered a few questions regarding SEO on forums that made great sense. Then I checked out his work and another site he is working on and then contacted him.

Oh, I do the work myself and sometimes with a helper.

    Thanks again everybody

    • So you hired a guy who is a cleaner to do your SEO for $500 a month and you think this is a good idea?

You realize most directories and forums have minimal affect on SEO. Additionally, setting up a blog takes 2 mins. So you shouldn't be mpressed about this.

You should ask him what he plans to do specifically. We can tell you whether it's effective and how long the task takes.

    • I don't understand this writing and obviously is a foreign company soliciting my business. This is who I think the other company had do my SEO as my new guy says its all screwed up. Especially my directories and onsite SEO. He is worried he says that they made a ton of spammy links which he said google is really cracking down on and actually dropping your rankings sometimes?
  • Lol no offense but i had a look at your blog and it's pretty awful. First off, you have the same topic for each entry. How to clean up (insert random food or object) off your carpet.

"For carpet cleaning services in Manhatton Beach and Hermosa Beach, call us now." No need to repeat these EVERY entry. We get the point.

The whole point of a blog is to get backlinks (bc people will enjoy it and share) and to entertain your customers. This will accomplish neither.

    • Ok, he said that he did only the latest blog which does have backlinks for my keyword and all the others are from the prior company I used that he said screwed up my directories as well which affects my places listing. something called citations? He also said he did not make the website and only has optimized the the Torrance and Hermosa page so far as well as working on my places page. He said the home page is all screwed up with to many title tags or something and that he cannot adjust it as it's not even in the dashboard with all the other pages. So currently he is working on 3 things at once for me. Is that good?
  • Some of so-called masters' comments is just so funny. $500/month for good SEO is just nothing... and I bet if someone tells you it is too much they don't know what SEO is. BTW, by good SEO, I mean a SEO that gives you many many keywords including competitive ones. Few keywords don't do much... You have to build authority websites with many keywords on the first page ranking. No matter what your niche or area is, there are many keywords that give you the prospects. We have done it many times and every time returned with many leads worth 10s of times of investment.
  • For a carpet cleaning site I would say he doesn't need many keywords, only 4 decent ones worth bothering about. The price depends on your skill level and the methods you use. I would say anything less than 500 is automated spam and too risky for a business site, so it's a reasonable charge for the keyword and whitehat seo. These keywords are a piece of cake for anyone who knows what they're doing.
  • He promises 1st page position? just check his website keyword, if he can do the same things than this guy perhaps not just talking, pretty lame if he can not ranking well.
  • No he is doing the right things. I have plenty of business websites ranking number one from directories, niche forums, classifieds and blog posts. It's alot safer for your site rather than blasting it with senuke links, it helps to brand your business and gives it a unique profile, he will have you on the first page soon, he knows what he's doing.

    • Man that makes me feel better. Thank you. Oh I knew I would get others wanting me to use them and bash him but this guy seems different and is extremly confident, almost cocky with his skills. I really like that he is an open book. I've just been burned before so I wanted to see what some would say here.

      Thank you very much

  • Be careful with people/companies that guarantee 1st page rankings.
  • don't trust anyone "guaranteeing" any kind of placement in SERPs. NO ONE can guarantee where they'll get you in ranking
