Best way to SEO

Hey all,

Anyone know a better method to SEO a site than to write a bunch of high quality content articles? I'm trying to SEO my own site and this is the only thing I've been doing for the past week. I am yet to be found on Google and I have submitted around 50 articles for a medium competition keyword. Would you all regard article writing as the best method to get on the first page of Google or are there other things I should be doing?

  • Kim Raoch did a piece titled "10x-method" describing how one can get 10 times more article traffic by writing guest articles for sites, rather than burying your work in un-ranked pages of article directories. The right search can turn up some of the sites that accept article submissions, like About.com, IMnewswatch.com, Site-Reference.com & Mashable.com, in other cases you have to become known by influential bloggers by first writing a few insightful comments on their posts before contacting them about writing an article.

    By all means mix up your backlink sources in order to present a more natural profile. Maintaining a decent average link quality may also prevent trouble with the Penguin filter. Some blog comments on articles relevant to your site as well as forum post signatures would fit into the mix, and help your linking site diversity, as the 100th link from a site is not as powerful as the first one it seems there may be diminishing returns from using a single article directory.
  • Is it an old or a new site? Try social bookmarking and pinging your site if it's not indexed yet.

    Try emphasizing certain keywords on your pages and make them seem more important.

    Have you filled out your meta tags? How are you doing for backlinks?
  • Besides writing great content you've to to link to it from other sources to attract some attention to your content. I wish the concept of ''if you build it they will come' worked for IM but just doesn't. I would order some fiverr gigs for social bookmarks, twitter tweets, and facebook likes to start with and draw attention to my site, Then I would dive into other forms of backlinking such as article submissions etc.

  • I found that blog comments from high pr pages works best for me. You can use scrapebox and find such pages or hire freelancer to do this job. Note that freelancers like to spam same pages with bad comments again and again.
  • Blog Commenting and Forum posting are the best link building technics to increase serp.
  • Link building is the only way to get a position in google. I think you got how to build links from previous posts. But the most important thing is that make them naturally. Otherwise google will penalize your site.
