Peeps, I am trying to go for a very competitive keyword (in a not so secret niche) and I am redoing my website at the same time.

Is it a bad thing for SEO that google has cached my "Under Construction" page with no content on it? Is all my hardwork done till now down the drains or will google come back and update the cache any time soon?

Also, there is some jquery on the website(to make it look really cool). Is it bad for SEO?

I think it'll comeback and update when you put content. My idea is no difference in terms of SEO. ANyway, in wordpress there is a setting to block search engines indexing your site!

Well use Google webmasters tool for instant preview and fetch as Google-bot.
after that submit that for indexation in the fetch as Google-bot window.
I think this will accelerate the overall process of caching.
