Was there somekind of update yesterday?

Hello,

I'm a bit curious. Was there some kind of update yesterday? One of my sites fell from 3rd to 10 and another one from 7th to 500+ ? Is it just coincidence or was there some kind of penguin/panda?

    I'm not sure. I noticed the same thing. I had a site go from 1 to 10. Rank Checker tells me it's at 22 but when I check using Safari, Firefox and Chrome, it sits at 10 (I've cleared my cookies and history). Now, this site had only held the #1 position for a week (it's about 3 months old) but I had a low bounce rate and good user interaction.

    I do use UAW on this site but not in an over-the-top way....4 posts a day.

    I added some content and submitted the new page to SocialAdr for social bookmarking. I'm interested to see what happens.

    Nothing so far according to SEOMoz > Google Algorithm Change History | SEOmoz

    The last one (1.1) was on the 25th of May.

    I think something changed, my site improved in the serp's. Then i did google search for keywords in my niche i found several sites being repeated my one included as if they were
    not enough results to show. I do think some more sites have disappeared. change that some sites have disappeared.

    Yes (kinda), but it was on the 5th June for me. One of my sites dropped from 3rd in Google to 500+. Probably not related.

    It seems to do this once every 4 weeks, and usually lasts about 2 weeks before bouncing back slightly stronger. Very confusing and frustrating.

    I've noticed a reduction in traffic on several managed websites. About 1/2 to 1/3 of what it was and it hasn't recovered. Started around Thurs/Fri (6/7 or 6/8) time-frame. Read some SEO sites and last change was around the 5/25 or so that I can find. Not that it has anything to do with it, but coincidentally, that's the last day of school for many people in the US.

    There was significant seismic movement ... about a PR-5 (Purge-Rank 5).
    Google must have been purging a lot of links, somewhere.

    Then, suddenly, it was business as usual. Everything popped right back to their original positions or better ... with some sites in even much better positions. Very interesting timeline.
