I'm posting as many answers relating to my niche as I can every 24 hours. I do this to increase traffic to my young blog site. It's about 20 every day, is this dangerous activity? can I be penalized for this?

thanks!

No it's good to post lots of answers. Just be careful not to appear as spam. Try and make your answers selected as the best answer.

thanks! I've got a 12% rate of being selected as best answer and gain points everyday, I tailor my answers to each question so I doubt I get flagged for spam,

You can banned for spammy answers. So take time to answer. There is no other danger with yahoo answers.

Not dangerous to your website because they are nofollow. But as someone else said you can get banned for spammy answers.

Yahoo answers do help bring in traffic though

I don't think Yahoo minds about the number of answers, as long as you are posting relevant, helpful information like the other posters said.

As for Google, I wouldn't expect a penalization from them, considering they are nofollow links.

I tried out Yahoo Answers and gave some really quality answers to people's question but I found a lot of times, the community was reporting me all the time.

I'm 99% sure it's my competition trying to wipe me out so I gave up after that, but hey, if you're having success with it, more power to you.

Well I've been doing it for more than a week now I think, and it's been fine, just getting lots of points, do they give you a notice when and if they report you?

      thanks!

Are you noticing a fair amount of traffic from yahoo answers? I get better results from them than any article site.

I'd say its in accordance with the number of questions answered, nothing to write home about.

It would depend on the popularity of the subject too.

I've tried Yahoo answers in some way, it could be workable. Just remember provide helpful information, not only for increasing traffic sake, be natural like friend.

You can post up to 4 or 5 answers
and can leave your blog there. That to should be related answers.
If you do more like this with the same blog.
Yahoo will block you to answer any more.

I have posted oads of answers with links and never been reported. It does bring some traffic but just because the links are no-follow doesn't mean it is not good for diversity i your link profile which may have some SEO benefit.

    It certainly can't hurt!!

Yahoo Answers can be a great source of targeted traffic, and 20 answers a day will be no problem as long as you provide value in your answers and actually answer the questions. Do that, and a lot of people will click through to your site for more information.

The great thing about Yahoo Answers is that it also ranks well in Google, so you'll get a steady flow of traffic from there too, often for months or even years.

It's a great strategy of getting traffic to your site but just be careful since it's quite hard to earn points in Yahoo Answers and getting your account banned can be a useless effort.
