Penguin Upadte Recovery

All my websites which are out of serp after Penguin Update, they still are not in google serp. There are a lot of recommendations how to recovery and get the website back in serp, but as i know nobody reached the goal.

Is there anybody who get his/her site back in serp - and what will be your recommendations.

  • The Penguin filter is not permanent - reduce incoming spam links and/or address overly opimized anchor text in links and you should see an improvement.

      Dilute your back link profile with non anchored raw URLs, your domain name as anchor and other generic anchors.
  • Not sure that it was due to Penguin. Before penguin update one of my keyword was at about 40, after penguin, it disappeared and was not about upto 1000. After six weeks now it is at 20. In this period I have done very little work, submitted for my website upto 5 PR 3 directories and submitted an article to Ezine. I haven't updated any contents at the page.

      Most moz pages are from people creating content for paid links.
  • It requires a lot of hard work and patience to recover the site.
    I have seen partial recovery of the sites hit by penguin with diversified anchor text back-linking. The progress is rather slow.
  • Use various anchor text, even link to "Click here", "Visit" and long-tail keywords as well as your site URL itself.

    Get backlinks to your inner pages too.

    Go for Contextual links - Use Web 2.0 sites with well written your niche related content (Say 500+ words), along with some videos and good images - Well format posts on web 2.0 sites using well written articles, videos, images - Such quality work really will pay you back. I mean, that will give better improvement on your ranks. Keep going this process until you get rank back [This approach worked for me ]
  • Useful tool for backlink analysis is ahrefs.com. Once you have an idea as to how your backlink profile looks, you can get to work on making it a bit more balanced.

      I am going to mention some key points how you could recover from Google penguin penalty. please see given below :

      1. Avoid keyword Stuffing
      2. Don't use copy content
      3. Avoid over optimization
      4. Only post quality content.
      5. try to use natural link building. Don't make use of spammy links

    Some of my blogs are OK. I just removed some of the direct anchor texts to my blogs. and after 17 days they are almost back to the previous position.

  • Penguin isn't a real-time filter, so no "SEO expert" can tell you for sure what works and what doesn't.

    My sites are back after I moved them to new (aged) domains and 301 redirected previous sites to new homepages. Why? I don't really know.

    • Exactly, there is no way to know specifically what works and what does not. If your site has been hit by Penguin, you need to change your SEO strategy to reflect quality and trust of links rather than low quality links in huge quantities.

      @cooler, many people have their own definition of low quality links, but in 2012 it is almost certainly a link which the Google algorithm can reliably detect as artificially created and, therefore, liable for penalization by the Penguin update. Such links may be scrapebox comments, AMR links, mass social bookmarks, even free directory links. Other criteria may be: high OBL (suggesting a page which has poor moderation and hence trust, especially if there are many outgoing spammy terms), non-contextual, and of course no-follow. Hope that helps.
  • I agree with bnetwork - there is no do and dont BUT it anyone has read the TOS lately, they would actually see that Google themselves might not pass their own filters.. whats good for the gander should be good for the geese, but not so with Google.

    I have had page 1 in the top 3 results for my keywords for 3 years in a row ( entire time ) - and i got hit - but i got back up there in less than 3 months.. the hit wasnt bad either still had rankings in the top 10, but the idea is simple keep doing good linking and not spammy and it will go back up.
    Everyone should also use Bing or Yahoo - bing is giving the old google results.
  • A deep analysis of website will provide you a strong reason behind downfall in ranking. Check quality of content and back links if you found any spamming or high keyword density in content part then revise your content immediately .Remove low quality back links of your website.

    • What are deemed as "low quality links"? Is it links on pages with a PR0 or links on sites with a high OBL?

      It isn't plausible for people to remove low quality links because in most cases people don't have any control of the sites which they are on. Plus there isn't any point contacting the webmaster to ask them to remove the link because spammers create spammy sites in large numbers so they aren't going to be checking all the email accounts for each spammy site.
  • I have tried everythink to recover,1 site has recoverd and is back on page 1 but my second site is still stuck on page 40,hopfully it will recover but just in case i have started on a new site with a new domain etc,
  • Question concerning "spammy links" - I had a drop in HUGE my rankings on several sites. I had been using SocialMonkee and I was wondering it anyone had an opion on the quality of their links. Could that have caused a problem?
