Hi all, I have a site that is used just as a blog, so no static pages what so ever. And one of my posts on the blog generates alot of visitors aday 300-500 a day. Theses visits are from several Keywords ranging from short to long tail keywords all ranking with in the top 10 in google.

The thing I want to know about is, how best to backlink to this post. So far I have done no backlinking to the post what so ever.
Do I link to the post using the most popular keywords as the anchor,or just add a link with no anchor text?
All I want to know is what is the best way to improve all the keywords in the post to get them all ranking higher, most are sat around rank 6,7. Just think of the traffic I could generate with it at rank 1.

Prioritize keywords with high volume of searches. Use the others to balance a natural-looking profile.

You don't really need to build many links to that post. Just make a natural promotion through social media, or you can make a video out of it. Anything that will reach your possible visitors.

    Again, focus on users.

Its quite interesting that you are have a lots of traffic without having any backlink. If you want rank that post top then there is no other way except backlinks.

SEO's in an extremely odd place right now...
        Just curious here,

When you looked at the sites as having "no real authority", was that just according to links? Did the sites have a lot of social interactions?

Maybe they didn't have 'authority' in a typical sense according to SEO methods, but Google saw something in them that made it worth putting in the top.

Build links for the right reasons. Building links with the right reasons is far different from spamming links.

Google did see something good with that particular post. Don't give them reasons to bring that blog down.

As long as the backlinks is from a posting perhaps it pretty safe, do not use the keywords but more natural link like "read here" etc. Now G seems inspect the backlinks from the whole paragraph (where the links placed).

Social Media is the best way to promote your site I think, but I have had success with back links as well.

Cheers Guys, so it seems that Social Media is the way to go.
But I don't understand how this can help me and the site, apart from people sharing your posts on Twitter how else can social media help.
Sorry for being such a noob at this and thanks for your advice already.

Right! Social Media is really effective to promote your product. It is impotant for you to build a social media network for visitors.
