So Im noticing the last few months Im getting traffic from mobile devices. For example since April I have had over 10k visits from Apple iPhone. So my question is, could I potentially make more money with adsense if I create a mobile version of my adsense site and use their mobile ads?

    Yes you should definitely.

I mobilized most of my sites recently and CTR on ads has sky rocketed for mobile visits. Time on site and bounce rate also improved significantly for those visitors.

I would recommend NOT using their mobile ads. The regular ad units will work just fine and will adapt for mobile screens, and you'll get better CTR on them.

I'd recommend going with a Same URL, Different HTML (or CSS) approach with user-agent detection for best SEO results - avoid using subdomains or alternative domains for your mobile content.

If running Wordpress, go with W3 Total cache + Mobile Switch + Your Custom Mobile theme. Works great!

When you're done, head to WMT and make sure Googlebot Mobile picks up your mobile version, the regular bot picks up the desktop version.

Thanks for the info! When you mean that adsense will auto pick the mobile ad size, are you saying I can use a 728x90 banner ad for mobile and it will auto fit the site?

No, I wouldn't use 728x90 in that case. More mobile friendly units are the ones where their width is 300 or lower, so 300x250, 250x250, 234x60, etc. I tried the 336x280 for iphone, it's a bit too fat but does get slightly better CTR than the 300x250.

For tablets, I serve the desktop version.

One other question, should I used a simple html template for mobile phones? Or do you think I could use something like jquery mobile? The reason why I prefer jquery mobile because it auto works for pretty much all smart phones so I wouldnt have to worry if the page fits different screen sizes.

    Yep, why not.

Another good thing about the setup above, is that you can specify unlimited themes for various users. You can have one for your regular desktop visitors, one for ipad and tablets, one for smartphones, and one for older phones.
