Wordpress Title and H1 Tag

So, I don't believe that the Wordpress Page/Post title carries an H1 Tag. Correct me if I am wrong on that.

That said, the Page/Post Title is generally what I want in a <h1>Header</h1>.

Trouble is, if I include the H1 Header, my Posts/Pages look funny as the Title and Header appear next to each other (vertically) and say the same thing.

This is probably very silly, but please help me out.

The post title is an h1 in wordpress so you don't need to add another h1 tag manually, since, as you said it looks silly to have them both say the same thing, and it's not good for SEO either.

Go on the live version of your page, and right click and look at source - find the title - if its surrounded by <h1>title here </h1> then your theme is already using H1 tags and you dont need to go and add it again.
standard practice should already use H1 already

Yep, that was pretty lame of me. Titles are surrounded by H1 tags. Anyway, thanks for the help
