Could somebody please help me out with keywords!

Right, I'm finding it hard to get my head around this..

Do I have to buy keywords? Can I not just include them on my blog etc? What benefits do you get from buying them? When on adwords it says 'Approx PCP' Does that mean every 1 click you receive on the keyword they'll charge you £...?

Thanks for the help

  • OK.

    No.

That's generally how we all do it.

You can't buy them. But I'll let you pay me for any words that you like and I'll quickly go into MS-Word and print off a nice "authentic" certificate of "ownership" if it makes you feel better.

Approximate PCP is what you get when you mix illegal batches of drugs together.

Approximate CPC, on the other hand, is an estimate (that you need to subtract roughly 40% from) of what Google will give you if you have your site optimized correctly and display ads relevant to that term and then someone clicks on said ad.

    You're welcome.

OK all jokes aside...there's nowhere to buy keywords if you're a blogger. You purchase keywords when you're buying AdSense ads. What it sounds like you're wanting to do is display ads on your site, though. Go through the SEO forum here and read the posts there and you'll get a good idea of how to make this work properly.

    • As already stated, keywords have no cost. Unless however you pay someone to do keyword research for you. A lot of people offer that service. Researching good keywords is not something everybody wants to do, but it's not difficult to learn if you have the time and inclination.

Regarding Adwords, I've not used the service, but from what I understand when I checked it out a few years ago, you can set the amount you wish to bid for each keyword, as well as the monthly budget you are prepared to spend.

  • You certainly need to study more lol.

    1. You don't need to purchase keywords.
    2. Your keyword selection define the type of traffic you will receive to your website. That is the reason why it's so important because it's difference between doing money or not.

You should read "SEO beginners guide." Simply type that in your search engine query and you will find it. Good Luck.

  • You can select one or more keyword to your niche. Then you can look forward to rank your site on those keywords. You can't buy any keyword. You can research through adword tool or any other free tool to chose keyword.
