In my webmaster in search query details it has my keyword and than it says average position 4 but my website is nowhere to be found on any page someone help me understand this?

  • It is a average position in search results for the time frame you select.

    Let's say your site is 20 days old you started it on April 1. For the first 10 days it was on 2nd position. For the next 10 days it moved to 1st position.

    So if you select April 1 - April 10 as your time period you would get average position 2.

    If you select April 10 - April 20 as time period you would get average position 1.

    If you select April 1 - April 20 as time period you would get average postion 1.5


    Your case is probably that you had good rankings for some time (which are rising the average position number) and then your site dropped in the search results so that's way to cannot find it now.
