Why is my SEO Spyglass taking AGES to check a domains backlinks

Hi guys,

Why is my spyglass taking absolutly ages to check the backlinks of a domain i give it ?

Before it never took this long whats happened ?

Any ideas ?

    I got an email about their latest update, I guess you got that too?

    If not, would an update solve this???

    SEO SpyGlass is something I have been interested in buying but never got round to it.
    I do have Market Samurai, so I guess they do the same thing anyway

    Yeah i got the update i think its updated automatic anyway its just it seems to take ages and ages to check domains now much longer than before

      They do not do the same thing. SpyGlass is much more useful. MS is a waste of money.

      It really depends on how many backlinks the site has. A lot of times if there are a lot of backlinks and you are not using proxies, it will get blocked by Google when checking PR's. If you use some proxies, it will speed it up a lot. If you are checking 15,000 backlinks, it is going to take awhile. It is pulling A LOT of data.

      The other thing you can do is turn off stuff you don't need/use. You don't need it to pull every bit of data all the time.

    Spyglass takes really a long time to check yes. About 5+ minutes to check a website with only 60,70 backlinks... Backlinkwatch is much faster, if only it had PR checker

      Backlinkwatch is utterly useless. It doesn't tell you the PR, if the links are still alive, how many other links are on the same page, and a host of other things.

      If all you are interested in is counting your backlinks, Backlinkwatch is fine. However, the number of backlinks you have doesn't mean much.
