What is best option of domain if EMD is not available

Hi,

I am confused about finding right domain name for my keywords. I searched alot but didnt got any satisfactory answer.

if i have a keyword "marketing forum" and EMD(marketingforum.com/net/org) not available.

Now what would be the best option for the domain name if i try these names:

marketingforums
marketingforumtips
marketing-forum
emarketingforum
bestmarketingforum
.
.
.
.
.
.

I need some expert advice on selecting best domain names for a keyword.

    My first choice is marketing-forum and second choice marketingforums. I also prefer the .com as a first choice and .net as a second choice. If none of that is available my other bet is .org or .info.

    It very ok since it's not a brand name. The only downside is, people might not remember to add the dash and that will send them to marketing forum dot com which isn't your site. Well, it's just in the minor. Since you are trying to come up with a forum why don't you just settle for a brand name because I don't see much help from the keyword marketing forum.

      Marketing forum is not the keyword i am targeting. i have used it just as example. i want to know what should be right format for domain name?


      also if i am targeting "fast writing" but EMD "fastwriting.com/net/org" is not available but "fastwritingtips.com" is available.

      should i go with domain "fastwritingtips.com". can it outrank fastwriting.com.

      PS: keywords are just for example. also i am targeting domains for micro niche sites.

    I would only use domain-name.com if domainname.com is unrelated to my site. Otherwise you may leak traffic to domainname.com.

    Don't obsess too much about the domain name. EMD's really aren't that important any more.

    If you don't want a brandable domain name, then just add a prefix or suffix to the keyword, eg:

    fastwritingtips.com
    fastwritinghelp.com
    bestmarketingforum.com

    etc

      Truthfully, EDM isn't that powerful anymore, you can simply add a prefix or suffix. What is important is your on and offsite SEO.

    Other domain name which you have mentioned are also good. I am suggesting you to go with marketingforums if it is available.
