Social Bookmarking Google Slap?

I had heard rumors of a new google slap for blogs/sites that are using heavy backlinks from social bookmarking sites.

I have a blog that was around position 12 for a keyword and it suddenly dropped to page 5 and stays there even though I am adding good PR links?

Does anyone have any info on a new "slap"?

So long as you try to find a variety of good quality links, i.e not all your links from the same site and the sites you are getting links from have a good page rank then you should not have been Google slapped and this might just be a routine Google fluctuation and you should soon regain your previous listing.

Good Point,

A diversity of link sources is always good strategy. We will see what happens.

While you should have a diverse set of incoming links to your sites there are some people right now who're trying to create a bit of a panic about this in order to flog their "solution to the problem" in the form of a membership site or eBook.
