Do spelling mistakes in customer reviews affect ranking?

Hi everyone

I have just read a report on how spelling and grammar errors can affect rankings.

I used a tool to identify spelling errors on my site and have found that there are quite a few on product reviews from customers.

So, will it be beneficial to check through all reviews and correct any errors? Or isn't it too much of a big deal to Google?

Thanks!

from my experience both spelling errors as well as syntax errors (less) play a role in your rankings.

google ranks "useful" content. and in order to be useful it has to be good!

Speaking strictly from a reader's point of view, I definitely will not give credibility to a site that is full of bad grammar and spelling. And, the reader's view is presumably important in Google's eyes.

Amazon ranks well ... and their customer reviews have spelling and grammar errors. They do not rely solely on customer reviews for their content though.

Also, you can test it and find out. Fix some errors on one of your pages and see if you go up in the SERPs.

      Thanks for all your posts!

Good point about Amazon. I have plenty of content on most of the pages - I just don't want anything to let the pages down.

I will certainly test it on one of the pages and see what happens...

      Thanks again.
