Will Google view this unfavorably?

I have a site that is approx. a year old. It is in a niche that has keyword click values in the $1.50 to $4.00 range. Initially, I put a lot of good, personally written content on the site; definitely not sparse or lacking in value. I've never gotten very high in the serps and not done much with the site for a long time. My adsense income has been in-line with my lack of recent work on the site; zero.

Suddenly, since the first of this month, I have started to get traffic and am seeing $50.00+ every day. Still nowhere in the serps but I tracked the traffic back to one link from a site with a similar topic as mine.

I know that this traffic could die as quickly as it came if that link is removed or the other site takes a dive in their own traffic. What I am really concerned about is Google. Are they likely to view my new traffic as not valuable since it's not coming in through the search engines and ban my account? I have had my adsense account for about 5 years on other sites and am so careful on following TOS, but this now concerns me.

Also, how can I utilize this new traffic flow (however long it lasts) to keep things going other than obviously add new and good content?

Thanks.
