After seeing ukCarl thread's about MNS, i opened a bunch - 10.

most of them ranked instantly, and now most of them are slowly being de-ranked.

The question is, i started adding content to the best of them, and i dont know what is the best practice of doing that.

should i add posts to the same category, with the same tags?
also it appears that changing the homepage posts confuses google too much..

any advice?

thnx guys.

When adding new content, always add your content as a page, with your keyword

For example - Dog training website
www.dog.com/dogtraining and then add your content about dog training.

Are your sites one page micro niche sites?

When I'm adding content, I post them as posts, not pages.
I use %postname% permalinks, so each post has is title on the root domain.
Each site I started with 3 articles, as following ukCarl method.

You think starting to post as pages will help? I don't think it's smart with ctr theme..

I don't think it matters with CTR theme specifically no. Google has no way of knowing if dogtraing.com/dog-training is a wordpress page or site, so just pick whatever you are most comfortable with.

The reason many say go for pages with micro niche sites is because that allows you to set up a static homepage where you can post your one pillar article. This is done in the READING tab of settings, but I'm not sure how CTR handles it so better stick with the current format.

I use CTR theme, with pages and everything works completely fine. I use a static page in the "reading" tab. I then put all my other pages (articles) on a widget with the "page" widget and put that widget under the 160x600 ads.

When posting articles as pages, don't you find that weird as you don't have an excerpt of other posts at the bottom of the page?

Not at all, I don't care if users want to find other posts or not find other posts. I just want them to check my site, read a little bit, and click on some ads.

              Simple as that.

If they want to read some more posts (pages) the option is always there on the sidebar widget. But even that is strategically placed right under the 160x600 ad block.

Do you suggest me to change all my posts to pages? Or maybe just put a static home page and keep the posts?

Now when I expand to authority, and post let's say another 10 articles after original 3, continou posting them as pages on the same category (EMD)? Or, open new categories after X number of posts?

Maybe someone else can better answer that question. I don't see a difference between posts and pages.

So you suggest that the homepage will be static right? I probably should put my best article with most words?

Also, do you suggest in all other posts to link to the homepage? I use "related posts" to other posts and also link to the home page from the last paragraph.

If you just built them and did no linkbuilding its also very possible its google dance. Often Google will put EMDs high in the rankings very quickly, but without any kind of backlinking effort your site will simply drop behind slowly before settling somewhere, not page 1 usually ;-)

There isn't much difference between WP posts/pages... after all, they're both pages.

Which one you use depends on how you like to set up your website structure. Do you use categories in any meaningful way? How big is your niche and website?

i use categories in the way stated at ukCarls's thread - category = emd , and each post is in that category.

some are broad niches some smaller..

im just trying to figure the best way in expanding them, adding categories or no.. i dunnu.
