So if I wrote a bunch of unique articles and post them on web 2.0 sites and link those back to my main site, does that still work even today, post panda/penguin??

Any tips on how to make it more effective?

    Yea it will work.After penguine i saw many of mine and other web 2.0 article ranking higher,many of them r ranking higher then my main site.

    They work if you give them a little love. Create a few articles on each and finally put a link in the last one. Send links to the 2.0 and article like you would your own site. Nothing massive, but some bookmarks, articles, comments, etc. That way they get their own juice and pass it along.
